No Words...

Just giggles.

Pots and Pans...

A Great Visit and Few Ninja Moves...

MomMom and Aunt Cathy visited us this past weekend. It was such a great visit and we can't wait for them to come back! I got some great pictures of MomMom and Andrew.

Connor was not as cooperative though I did sneak this one when he didn't realize I had the camera out.

I had to hide the camera, sneak around the coffee table, and lay myself out on the ground just to get this shot.

Notice the tears in his eyes?
I've truly ruined him.

Mornin' Rasslin'...

Connor vs. Andrew
And they're off! Connor pins Andrew...
Andrew gets Connor in a headlock...
Connor reverses out of it...

And puts the 'bear hug' on Andrew...

Andrew submits.

Hugs and kisses all around!

Happy 23rd Month Connor...

I can't believe in one short month you will be two years old!!

Check Out Her Face...

She's thinking, "Aw shoot. There's going to be another one walking around here soon? Oh well, maybe this one will be easier to outrun."

Na Night...

MomMom Recigno used to say "na night." When it was time for bed, it was time for "na night."

Connor has started 'pretend' snoring when we're getting close to bed time. The other day I was trying to prolong putting him down for his nap (a.k.a. wearing him out) so I started singing Old MacDonald to him. He ran over to the bottom stair, laid on it, and started snoring. I was a little offended but I got over it pretty quickly. I know he loves my rendition of "Over the Rainbow" so no big deal. The other night we were playing before bed time (a.k.a. wearing him out). He ran over to the chair, grabbed a blanket, laid down on the floor, yelled "Na Night" and then proceeded to snore.

It warmed my heart.

Then he got back up again and ran around the room approximately seventeen times.

Nap Time...

Nap time has been quite iffy these days. I never know when Connor will go right down or fight me tooth and nail. He used to be such a great sleeper. He would sleep twelve hours straight at night, take a two hour nap in the morning and then a two hour nap in the afternoon. I was lucky indeed! Since January, and the recent assertion of his toddler independence (or is it defiance?), we've somehow gone to nine hours at night, sometimes straight, sometimes not, and a two hour nap in the afternoon if I'm lucky.

Today, it's raining. Rain usually make me nervous because we don't get our daily dose of fresh air. Today, however, I had big plans. A certain indoor play space not too far from us has half price Wednesdays. The kicker is that the time the half price admission falls is Connor's nap time, 1 - 3pm. Yikes.

I tried to get Connor down pretty early. I started at 11am. He cried, he threw stuff, but eventually he laid on the floor and sucked his thumb. I thought I was in the clear. I started folding and putting laundry away in our room, right across from Connor's room. We normally put the baby gate up in the doorway and then shut his door. He usually opens the door, yells over the baby gate, gets bored because nobody pays attention to him and lays down. That didn't quite happen today.

Today, he decided to scale the baby gate. Yes, we have Spiderman living amongst us. This child climbs everything so why couldn't I foresee this happening? Maybe I did, but pushed it to the back of my mind and thought "Ehh, we'll deal with it when it happens." He ran into our room, looked up at me, and said "Hi!" Then he stood there VERY proud of himself, yet unsure of what to do next. So I picked him up, climbed over the baby gate and laid him back down in his bed. I made no eye contact and said absolutely nothing to him and shut the door. (Why? Well, this is how the 'Nanny' does it and it works!) I went back to folding my clothes. He opened his door and tried to scale the gate again!

This time he pretended like he was stuck. With his leg halfway over and his whole body off the ground, he started yelling, "WHOA, WHOA, WHOA" all the while, looking over at me. Yes folks, we also have quite the actor/comedian in the house these days. I proceeded to ignore him, finished what I was doing and headed downstairs.

He is now sleeping fitfully, on the floor, I might add. We might just be able to make it to our half price play date!

School Boy...

Obviously not happy about something.
