Painting...

Who knew that 'painting' the fence with a makeup brush and a spray bottle could be SO much fun!

A Fun Visit...

Mom and Bob came to visit us a couple of weeks ago. They took the boys out to dinner while we went to a wedding Saturday night. Mom mentioned how good they both were and I'm wondering if she was saying that because she's 'Grammy' or if they really did behave.

Maybe they were just being 'extra special great' so we'll get more visitors? He he!

A Few Updates...

I haven't been updating as much as I would like lately. I'm still trying to manage 35 hours of work a week, playdates, summer camp, and basically keeping us as busy as possible in this heat. Here are a few updates:

1. I've learned that composting is not as fun and exciting as I thought it would be...especially when only one of us wants to do it.

2. "My day" is now "Mine, mine, mine" in a slightly annoying, whiny tone.

3. Running is not as 'fun' in 100 degree weather.

4. It's very interesting having two little ones teething...very interesting.

Missing the Cues...

Sometimes I'm guilty of it. I completely miss the cues. Take this day for example.

I should've noticed how sleepy he was looking as I was feeding him lunch. Ok, well I did notice but I really didn't think THIS would happen...

Cool Dudes...

Happy Father's Day...

We went to the beach last weekend with Alicia and Matt. I was so busy with work and packing and other household stuff that I didn't have a chance to think about the date but I knew I wasn't going to miss it!

Last Sunday, we all woke up around the same time (we were all staying in the same room at the beach,) I ran over to our bags, pulled Keith's Father's Day gift and cards from my clever hiding spot, turned around with a HUGE smile on my face and wished him a Happy Father's Day. I was so darn proud of myself. Not only had I worked crazy hours the week before, packed for all of us, and trained our new neighborhood pet sitter but I remembered the Father's Day gifts and cards too!

Keith looked at me with a scowl on his face and said "You're kidding me, right?"
My smile quickly vanished.
I was a whole week early.
Seriously.

Happy Father's Day, hon. For real.
You are truly the best.

We Did It...

We ran the 5k on Saturday. A 5k is 3.1 miles. Quite the feat, considering I couldn't even run a mile four months ago. I trained for four months. Keith trained for two weekends. Yes, I'm kind of jealous. The boys trained with us every week and as you can see by the hand holding, we were all in this together.

We chose a very hilly and challenging course but we had so much fun doing it and it was for a good cause. I think we're both addicted and will be doing many more in the future. Oh and Keith is also training for a triathlon. Check out his new bike...

For the record, out of 529 people, we came in 387th and 388th. I finished in 36:00 minutes and Keith finished in 35:59 minutes.
